If You Are Landscaping Your SL Garden, Or Adding Something Special To Your SL Paradise, You Will Find All You Need at Kidd's Garden Centre

Since I can remember owning a parcel of land in SL I've been buying plants, trees, flowers, grasses and other items from the Kidd Garden Centre.  Not only are these fabulous items very low prim, they are also very inexpensive and the quality is superb.  I got a great surprise the other day when dop Kidd dropped me an IM along with a lovely gift of some seaside plants and palm trees.  Apparently dop had been friends with my previous neighbour on the sim and had looked at my garden.  I've just installed a beach there, so the gift was very welcome and I really enjoyed placing out the Kidd palm trees (complete with coconuts) and the shrubs which look so natural. I have a lot of items from the Kidd Garden Centre in my inventory, timber walkways and bridges, gazebos, things for each season of the year. The flowers are beautiful, I have a whole colour range of Kidd blooms and the nice thing is they come in many styles, scattered groups of plants, hedgerows, single plants and bushes and they are all generally just one prim to cover a big area. It's the same with the meadow grasses, all sizes and shades of green, many with very pretty flowers laced among the spiky green grass leaves.  You can buy versions of the plants and trees that you can copy and modify now too, which is really handy.  If I want something for my garden, Kidd's has always been one of the first stores on my shopping trip, there is always something new and the choice is just amazing.  Thank you dop for your wonderful gift.

Yellow Submarine 50th Anniversary Celebrated at the Psychedelic HangOut!

There was an amazing party at the HangOut tonight, we were celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' Yellow Submarine movie.  DJ and HangOut owner Janis Short played some great Beatles tracks along with some fantastic cover tunes by other well known artists. The club looked splendidly 60s with its bright mind-blowing vibrating colours. The clubbers looked extraordinary in their 60s outfits, they really went to town with their costumes. We even had the Beatles in attendance, courtesy of Simon Seurat who changed costumes throughout the evening to bring us John, Paul, George and Ringo. One of my favourite Beatles' tunes  'Across the Universe' with its spiritual feeling of peace and wonder made my night, mixed in with a brilliant selection of their other greatest hits beautifully put together by DJ Janis; It was a fitting tribute to this legendary band.

It was 1968 when United Artists released the animated film about the Beatles called 'Yellow Submarine', yes 50 years ago!  It was the era of psychedelic fashions and the Beatles own journey into a more mystic soul-searching style of music after they had given up touring and after the initial Beatles mania that had spread across most of the planet. The actual song Yellow Submarine had been written by McCartney and Lennon in 1966 and it was included in the Beatles Revolver album with Ringo Starr singing the lead vocals of the song.  Yellow submarine was released as a single and was number one in the charts for four weeks in the UK. The song was adapted by record producer George Martin for the 1968 film joining the catalogue of other Beatles' hits in the movie. Titan Comics are celebrating the 50 year anniversary of Yellow Submarine by releasing a new comic book adaptation of the movie, written and illustrated by MAD Magazine's editor Bill Morrison.

Ed and Debbie Show Hibiscus and I Some Great Dance Moves With Bento Dance Animations.

Ed and Debbie dropped over to my place in SL last night, as Hibiscus and I were finishing off a game of Skippo (the SL card game that we are hooked on!).  Ed wanted to show us some new dance animations, these are for the Bento avatars, which give you much more movement and smoothness overall and look just great.  As Ed danced I could see his Bento hands moving just like real life hands with the fingers bending and straightening individually of each other, instead of the usual static hands that keep one pose all the time on the classic avatars.  After I said goodbye to Hib, Ed and Debbie I teleported over to the dance animation store that Ed had given me the landmark for called MOVE, where he had purchased his Dance AO. I replaced my classic avatar hands with the Maitreya Lara Bento hands in my inventory and I had great fun trying out the Bento dances, they are so graceful and the arm and hand movements are brilliant.  I bought a couple of dances, it was about time, I've been using the same old Dance AO I bought a few years ago and I was very bored with it.  I will keep the Bento hands on my avatar now, I'd not used them in the beginning because some people couldn't see them on their browsers, but I think most people are using the latest mesh avatars now, so it's time to put the classic hands away for good.
