A Total Eclipse Of The Sun Set The Scene For A Fantastic HangOut Party

There was a smashing Eclipse Party at the HangOut tonight.  Owner Janis Short had turned the club into an amazing spectre of Suns and Moons and she played songs with the same theme.  We dressed in black and gold for the occasion and everyone looked fantastic.

We celebrated the total solar eclipse as the moon passed in front of the sun, covering Oregon to South Carolina in America. This is the first time in 99 years that such an eclipse crossed the entire country from the Pacific to the Atlantic coast.  I heard that we might see a partial eclipse in the UK and Europe as well but the clouds blocked out the sun, well where I am anyway.  The last time a total eclipse was visible across the USA was June 8, 1918.  The next total solar eclipse to cross the USA will be in April 2024 when it will cover 12 States and after that there will be another one in August 2045 when it will cross 10 States.  There is something magical about an eclipse, I last saw a total eclipse in the UK on August 11, 1999.  They told us there would be a cool breeze just as the moon passed between the earth and the sun, and there it was, it added to the magic, awesome!!
