We are getting into winter now in the UK and once October is over we look forward to Bonfire Night on 5th November. Gunpowder, Treason and Plot are remembered each year to commemorate Guy Fawkes who was part of a gang who plotted to blow up the Houses of Parliament. In Britain, traditionally we light a bonfire and have firework parties on the night of the 5th, but to know the real story about Mr Fawkes and his colleagues adds to the occasion. The New London Village have an excellent Guy Fawkes Exhibition which opened this week and it's packed with information. Take a trip over there and read the rich history of the 1605 and the plotters. There are also some great gifts at the New London Village, you can even get a free Guy Fawkes avatar! Plus there is a great photo competition to enter where you could win lots of lovely Linden dollars.
People who aren't too familiar with the Guy Fawkes' tale would probably still recognise the Guy Fawkes mask that the group 'Anonymous' use on You Tube, plus the masks have been used in many demonstrations throughout Europe.
