DJ Janis Paid A Tribute To Our Many Deceased Rock Stars

DJ Janis Short

We seemed to be losing a lot of our rock stars over the last few years, what with David Bowie dying recently and people you never expected to die so young like Amy Winehouse, I suppose we think these people will go on forever.  DJ Janis Short had a special tribute evening for our deceased celebrities of the music scene at Rob Fenwitch's great venue Zorro's Tavern.  Janis worked her socks off gathering many hits from over the decades of the late stars. It was only as she started to play her set that I realised just how many people had met their maker! Here are some of the tracks Janis played:

Del Shannon - Runaway
Johnny Kid & The Pirates - Shakin' All Over
Lesley Gore - You Don't Own Me
Stiv Bators - Have love will travel
The Rolling Stones - Paint It, Black (Brian Jones)
George Harrison - I've Got My Mind Set On You
Dusty Springfield - Son of a Preacher Man
Peter Tosh - (You Gotta Walk) Don't Look Back
Ray Charles - Hit The Road Jack
T.Rex - Jeepster (Marc Bolan)
Ramones Do you remember rockn roll radio - Jeepster
Gene Vincent - Be-Bop-A-Lula
David Bowie & Queen - Under Pressure (Remastered)
Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers - I Want You to Be My Girl
Jim Croce - Bad Bad Leroy Brown
The Big Bopper - Chantilly Lace
Buddy Holly - Peggy Sue
Eddie Cochran - Something Else
Ritchie Valens - La Bamba
Out in the fields - Gary Moore and Phil Lynott
Motorhead - Ace of Spades (Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister)
Ian Dury & The Blockheads - Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll

Janis still had many tunes to play as I had to say goodnight,  I guess all these pop stars are now rocking away in Heaven!  It was a terrific night thanks to Janis and Rob!
