Update on Hyde Park and Bonfire Night

Although Janey recently reported on the new ‘Kew Glass House’ styled shops in SL Hyde Park, it is generally Knightsbridge and Mayfair that grab the headlines with their popular clubs and entertainments.
This week Hyde Park manager Debbie Platthy and her hard working team of greeters are in the spotlight. On Thursday November 5th a Bonfire Night party is to be held in Hyde Park with a ‘Fireworks Extravaganza’. The fun will start at 8 pm (UK) 12 pm SLT.

We tend to overlook the fact that the other London sims, particularly their clubs and shops, rely heavily on the stream of new arrivals at the community gateway in Hyde Park. It is an important task to make these residents feel welcome and encourage them to linger and hopefully make London their home.

Debbie and the team have been making continuous improvements to the amenities, which are now paying off with regular counts of 40 – 50 visitors in the sim. This week it is their turn to show London they can party, and well deserved it is too.

Hi Ed,

Great article, although I would say that we try to give a balanced coverage to all sims here at Virtually London (lite) where possible. If we are not made aware of forthcoming events by certain areas than this makes things difficult, although I do try to find out as much as I can to bring the news to Virtual Londoners.

Janey :)
