Firework Display in SL Hyde Park

Well its the dark cold month of November, but a lot of fun is still going on in the London sims.

We had Halloween a few days ago, and on Wednesday, we celebrated ‘Guy Fawkes night’ in SL Hyde Park. There were a number of bonfires lit and the fireworks were just amazing, lighting up the whole park. The London team had done a great job (as ever) and the firework displayay went on for four hours, so that everyone had a chance to see it.

For our foreign friends, Guy Fawkes was a member of the English Roman Catholic Revolutionaries who planned to carry out the Gunpowder Plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament during the State Opening on 5th November 1605.
Although Fawkes wasn't the lead figure, he was put in charge of executing the plot and is the person that most people associate with the attempted dastardly deed!

It has been a national tradition ever since to hold Bonfire night celebrations on 5th November each year in England, to remind people the repercussions of committing treason :)

It was a great event, the first time I have ever had the chance to see what a Guy Fawkes night was all about. The fireworks were beautiful and the pictures you took really show them off perfectly!

You know what's missing here? A what's coming page as well as a what has happened.

I read this blog every post and it would beat having a full inbox - just a thought.

Hi Hib, thanks, it was nice to see it all without standing out in the cold as we do in real life!!

jonc, thank you for your feedback. I totally agree with you that a 'what's coming page' is what we need. As the blog evolves I am always looking for ways to improve things and I think you have a valid point. Thanks again for your suggestion.

Best wishes
Janey
